Church Meadows was one of our earliest projects and one of our most ambitious - a six-bedroom home with an indoor pool that set a benchmark for luxury residential work the business has been building on ever since.

Church Meadows was commissioned just four years into the life of Townend Developments, and it asked more of the business than anything that had come before it. A six-bedroom luxury home with a full indoor pool on one of Wraysbury's most respected addresses, it was a brief that demanded technical precision, sophisticated specification, and end-to-end personal oversight. For a young company still building its reputation, it was not just a project. It was a statement.
Incorporating a full indoor pool within a residential build brought significant structural and engineering demands from the very earliest stages of groundwork. Alongside that, coordinating a luxury interior finish across a home of this scale to a standard the client had every right to expect left no margin for error. The challenge was not just technical. It was about delivering at a level Townend had not yet been asked to reach, and doing so without compromise.
Church Meadows was completed in 1986 and delivered exactly as promised - a six-bedroom home with an indoor pool, finished to the finest standard Townend had produced at that point in its history. It demonstrated, to the local community and to the business itself, that this was a company capable of operating at the highest end of the residential market. The confidence it built contributed directly to Old School Court that same year, and to four decades of luxury residential work that followed. The home still stands in Wraysbury today.
